DRAWING WITH THE SENSES
ONE DAY WORKSHOP

Tutor: HELEN BARFF

A multi-sensory approach to drawing

Course Outline:
The day will begin by exploring the local environment selecting found objects – either natural or man made. These objects will then be explored through a variety of drawing processes, using a multi-sensory approach – including using touch, weight and vision. A series of investigative drawings will be created based on the found objects. In the afternoon these drawing processes will be taken back out into the environment where you will be encouraged to work directly from their surroundings on a larger scale. These drawings will be a physical, multi-sensory reflection of the location.
|
Throughout the day the emphasis will be on engaging with the drawing process, as much as considering the end result.
