Rebecca Salter is attracted to the visual sophistication of Japanese prints; the flat colour, the bold, cropped compositions and, above all, the fluidity of the lines are all evident influences on her minimal, abstract works. Her prints are made using traditional Japanese techniques, paper and cherry wood blocks. She has studied and lived in Japan. Salter is an elected Royal Academician (RA) 2014
