Emma Stibbon's imagery originates from epic walks she makes. Her monumental landscapes defy the romanticism of previous centuries. She writes “I aim to create an almost theatrical experience that has an emotional charge for the viewer”
Stibbon is an elected Royal West of England Academician. She studied at Goldsmiths College of Art and UWE. Recently she was awarded the TN Lawrence Printmaking prize and in 2001 the Dupre prize for a woman art at the RA Summer Exhibition. Her work is represented in many major collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum
